While The Texas Chainsaw Mouseacre (pictured above) playfully nods to one of horror’s most infamous films, the real-world ethics behind every Atropos Mediaworks piece are grounded in care, legality, and respect for animals. Horror may be loud and chaotic on screen — but our process is anything but.
Ethics are an important consideration when choosing a taxidermist. What is ethical is ultimately for you to decide — not something an artist should dictate or sensationalize.
The following outlines the ethical standards Atropos Mediaworks follows in the creation of our novelty taxidermy pieces and scenes, so you can make an informed decision that aligns with your own values.
Atropos Mediaworks is operated by a licensed taxidermist with a deep respect for animals, conservation, and the environment. All animal specimens used in our work are real and are acquired after death through the following sources: natural causes, road hazard (roadkill), and food-chain (such as feeder animals).
We do not catch, harm, or kill animals for artistic purposes.
We do not work with endangered or protected species, and all materials are obtained and used in accordance with
applicable laws and regulations.
